RAMADAN – CAN I PRAY TARAWEEH PRAYER AT HOME?

(All praise is due to Allah, Lord of the Realms; and Prayers and Peace of Allah be upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon all his family and companions)

Ramadan is the blessed month in which we are required to perform and work the desired way as expected as this month is said to be full of blessings, mercy and forgiveness, every believer tries to acquire the maximum benefits possible and this is where today we would stress upon a matter which requires attention:

(Some believers are not sure that are they allowed to offer special Taraweeh Prayer of Ramadan at home and are there any special rules which shall be known to acquire the best practice)

For your knowledge Taraweeh prayers are ideal to pray in a Mosque with a Jama’ah and for those who are not in an easy access to the Mosque or for any other good reason you cannot join a Jama’ah, you are allowed to pray at home. Now comes the rules stated below which will help you to select the person who is more likely to be the Imam.

The Prophet (s) as you would know instructed us in an authentic hadith that the order for choosing the Imam for salaat is as follows:

1. The one who reads the Quran the most, i.e. the more someone has memorized the Quran the higher the choice of him leading a Jama'ah. This includes that the person should be able to recite the Quran properly with Tajweed rules. In the time of the Prophet (SAWS) and thereafter initially, this also included the one who had the most knowledge of the Quran as memorizing and knowledge of the Quran went hand in hand back then.

2. If they are same in that respect, then the one who has the most knowledge of Sunnah, i.e. scholar or most knowledge of the whole of Islam.

3. If they are the same in that respect, then the one who is the oldest in migrating for Islam, or highest in obedience to Allah, piety etc, should lead the prayer or the eldest in age if all other aspects are the same.

4. In a particular Mosque or a person's house, the person of the house or the Imam of the Mosque has the first right to lead the prayer even if another person has more knowledge etc about Islam. But if the local person allows the person of most knowledge to lead prayer in his house then that is fine.
However, remember that it is still ideal, more rewarding and advised to acquire more rewards and determination to pray Taraweeh in a Mosque.

Holy Quran-Solution for every problem of the world

When we were young life seemed very tension free and fun, but as we grow old we begin to face the realities and hardship of life which were transparent before. People need to do a careful study in order to conclude the problems faced by the world. Even the so called developed countries of the world have so many unresolved problems which they don’t have a solution and are unable to present a solution. Islam presents solution to all the moral and social problems faced by the west.
The number of homicide, rape, robbery and aggravated assault is at rise every year in the west (developing countries). The Holy Quran presents solution for all these, if west imply the Islamic dress code there will be a drastic change in the number of rapes, if the punishment of chopping hands is implemented there will be a massive decrease in robbery and burglary, same goes for homicide and all other problems like depression, poverty etc. The system of zakat if implemented properly that can eradicate poverty. Holy Quran is the last book revealed to mankind from the God of this universe. In order to understand this divine book one must use our intellect.
One’s intellect has to be applied in the understanding of this Book. This is something that the Quran itself has commanded us to follow at every step of life. For instance, in Al-Baqarah, Quran talks about spending in the way of Allah and how Satan motivates man into spending elsewhere for these worldly wishes. And then in the middle of this discussion, Allah says
"But none will grasp the message except the men of intellect." (Quran 2:269)
We can have a better world if we follow the teachings of Quran and authentic Sunnah of our Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

View of Quran about the Life of This World

It is a universal fact and also the law of the nature that the life of every living being comes to an end one day. This world is a temporary place and nothing here is forever. One day this world will come to an end and there will be life no more.  It’s only the God, the creator, Almighty Allah who’ll remain forever. Human beings have been made aware of this reality of life by Almighty Allah in Quran.

Man has been repeatedly reminded by the Quran about the mortality of the life of this world. It has also told us that the eternal life is the life hereafter and we must prepare ourselves for that life. Therefore, Quran asks mankind to practice good deeds in this world and follow the path of Allah in order to have eternal afterlife in heaven. In Quran Allah Says “O my people, this worldly life is only [temporary] enjoyment, and indeed, the Hereafter -that is the home of [permanent] settlement” (Ghaafir 40:39).

Quran the magnificent book has viewed the life of this world as a test for the human beings and has mentioned that the hereafter is better and everlasting.  Quran says “And We will surely test you with something of fear and hunger and a loss of wealth and lives and fruits, but give good tidings to the patient.” (Al-Baqarah 2:155) “But you prefer the worldly life, while the Hereafter is better and more enduring. (Al-‘Alaa 87:16-17).

The life in this world is just like a beautiful dream where everything seems real but the reality is something else. It’s the man who needs to understand the mortality of the life of this world and prepare for the eternal life i.e. hereafter.
